Bishop Alroy Charles O’Reggio, was born on May 8, 1927, in Montego Bay, St. James, Jamaica, the son of the late Alberic O’Reggio and Dellon Gooden. On January 26, 2022, he transitioned peacefully at home while in his sleep to be present with the Lord after devoting over 65 years in ministry which started in his beloved country of Jamaica before he migrated to the United States of America and then immigrated and settled in Toronto, Ontario Canada.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his dearly beloved wife of 49 years, Gwendolyn L. O’Reggio (2003), his beautiful sister, Delroy Louise Dixon (2017), and his two amazing grandsons, Charles River (2020) and Justin Woods (2021).
Bishop will be remembered for his ardent teaching of the word of God, his melodious crooning singing, his outgoing personality, warm sense of humor, his generosity, and a heart full of love for people especially those of the household of faith.
Bishop, an icon, a father and a mentor in the Church of God 7th Day has inspired and imparted knowledge to his spiritual sons and daughters. Over the years he performed many baptisms, many weddings, blessed many infants, conducted many burial services, ordained many into ministry, and other things. He was very present to helping those in need.
He leaves behind 6 biological children producing 17 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He rejoiced when told that a new child was born into his family. He being a man of God is highly respected by his children and will be forever loved, and always remembered.
